FITNESS

March 21, 2016

Winter has come and gone. I didn't exercise much. And my stomach region is showing it. However, it's felt so great to get out and run again! It's just my preferred method of exercise. Yet I know I can make more efforts to be more consistent with SOMETHING rather than just end up doing nothing. And yes, housework and taking care of kids burns calories and uses some energy-- living a somewhat active life always does. However, to improve muscle strength, coordination, and flexibility--all things which have great benefits--I have to make a concentrated effort. It doesn't have to be big, it just has to happen. :)

July 21, 2015

I asked for a running stroller for Mother's Day and I got one! I have been running ever since. :) And I did a 5K on the 4th of July pushing the stroller! And I'm still running even to this day! (Can you tell I'm excited about this?) :) It's been working out really well to get up in the morning, have breakfast, feed my baby and let him play for a while, and then take him in the running stroller when it's his nap time. I get out in the garden afterward and it all works out lovely. :)

Just Keep Moving

I keep changing my home page stuff.  I originally had the word "Figure" as one of my categories...but then I realized that is not really anything I've been super concerned with in my life. And it's not the aspect that anyone should focus on too much. Plus, in my opinion, one's "figure" can only be altered so much (naturally, anyway.) One's "fitness" level however, can be altered quite a bit.

So my focus is maintaining/improving my overall fitness level. I have an athletic body type and inherited a great metabolism (so far.)  That doesn't mean I should give less effort to my overall health.  I know I could definitely improve in the amount of vegetables and fruit I consume, how much strength training I do, and making sure I don't slack off too much on the right amount of exercise each week.  Whatever the case, the basic idea is to just keep moving. Keep doing healthy habits and acquire new ones when necessary.  The pic for this entry is my daughter in the running stroller for a Thanksgiving Day race.  I may not have run much that winter (or most winters)-- but I at least wanted to still do something.

Concerning my "figure", it will most likely never be voluptuous or rail thin or anything resembling actresses or models.  In this blog one can find my core beliefs and opinions about various topics-- and here will be found how I feel about plastic surgery and breast enhancement.  I don't agree with it.  I do believe, however, that there are circumstances that absolutely require that type of expertise in the medical field. Those who have suffered awful burns or disfigurations for whatever reason.  I get how sometimes women need breast reduction if they happen to have the genetics of being quite large, yet it is detrimental to their overall health and back condition.  I believe that whether or not we have the monetary means to make changes in our body--if it's not necessary-- we shouldn't. We should learn to accept ourselves and others for who we are.  We should become the best we possibly can given our circumstances, and work towards seeing what's inside of someone rather than what's on the outside. Maybe some have read the book, "Wonder."  If you haven't yet-- you should.
